Aishwarya Rai Biograohy
“Hi. I am Sanjana”. That was all it took to eclipse both Aamir Khan and Mahima Choudhary in the Pepsi commercial, making this aqua-eyed beauty the talk of the town. You just knew that you had not seen the last of Aishwarya Rai and she was not one to disappoint.

Balmain Fall Winter 2009 Men's Biker Jeans

Call me a sucker for wanting to pay overprice for a pair of jeans. It's not the first time I have done so, as evidenced in my past Dolce & Gabbana and Dsquared2 jeans addiction. I told myself not to commit the same 'mistake' again after the rapid outing of distressed denim a few years back (I have quite a few! Thankfully, it's making a small comeback for Spring Summer 2010 Menswear, so I can dust them off the hangers and 'milk' them for my money's worth again:-P) But it seems this trend of being silly is coming back for me this Fall Winter 2009:-( I am liking these Balmain Biker Jeans from the Fall Winter 2009 collection very much.

The prices of these TDF jeans are scary. Even more so than DG and D2's offerings. My only consolation...much as these were overpriced and seemingly Balmain having no shame in charging such ridiculous prices for denim, it is still very much cheaper than the ladies' version. So perhaps that my best justification to myself if I ever commit to such a purchase. Or I could always rationalise that denim lasts a lifetime and I wear them practically everyday. They get better with more washes and tears:-P

So what draws me to these pricey jeans? The ribbed detailing, which is very interesting and gorgeous skinny cut are darn good reasons. But most importantly, the most 'profoundly' silly of reasons...it's Balmain!?!?!?! And I have to have it!

Excuse me, I think I need to go 'rob' a few more banks in order to afford all these 'strangely' increasingly more expensive luxury goods lately. Recession? Huh?!??! What recession?

Retail price: Starts from Euro $700 and above. Where to buy: www.luisaviaroma.com

Bond No. 9 Astor Place

Bond No. 9, the perfumery located in New York's NoHo neighborhood and whose fragrances are sold at Saks Fifth Avenue and London's Harvey Nichols, has created The Bond No.9 collection of 34 scents in 34 individually designed bottles in homage to the great city of New York and each of its iconic neighborhoods.

Now I have to admit, the usual fragrances wafting out of the NY subway grates and street corners and into my nose are most commonly those of vomit, beer, and pizza, so I am really looking forward to the new Astor Place perfume with its notes of Violet Leaf, Mandarin Zest, Freesia, and Red poppy buds! Bond No. 9 is also responsible for leading the first ever recycling program initiative in the fragrance industry, encouraging customers to bring in any and all perfume bottles (and they don't have to be Bond bottles) to Bond No. 9 fragrance counters or stores. Now that's definitely eco-chic....

Cintia Dicker

It's official, Cintia Dicker is one of the most beautiful models and THE most gorgeous redhead working in fashion today. What's not to love about her? The 22 year old Brazilian beauty is famously known for her hair, pout, and freckles. Hmm just like me! Ok I digress.... From her discovery in a shopping mall to the runways of Anna Sui, Lanvin, Moschino, Derek Lam, etc., Cintia continues to dazzle the fashion world with her swimming pool eyes and gorgeous red hair, and as far as I'm concerned every major fashion label should be snapping up this stunning model for their runway collections and ad campaigns. Seriously, could she be any more gloriously redhead???

Alexander Wang Fall Winter 2009 Bags

Givenchy and Balmain has inspired a fashion tribe that saw influences from the 80's and packed with a mean attitude and goth/rock edge. Alexander Wang's new Fall Winter 2009 should appeal to these faithful followers but with a strong, sassy and young direction. The clothes are sexy and gorgeous while his accessories, especially bags are somewhat highly note-worthy and coveted.

Way before his collection hits the runway, one of his bag designs, the Coco Duffel has already cause a huge buzz among fashion fanatics and many have already anxiously awaiting its arrival in the stores. All thanks to Mary Kate Olsen who is often the best 'spokesperson' of all things hip:-P What she wears and uses, everyone follows. Swinging on her arms way before the debut of Alexander Wang's runway show, Mary Kate has since set hearts fluttering at the rock chic beauty of the Coco Duffel's soft lambskin bag and gorgeous studded base. Rocker gals and 'style valiant' punk boys, this is the bag for you! (The size is somewhat small, so the boys will have to be very confident and bold in order flaunt this beauty. A reader has already sought my opinion about the bag and my advice is if you think you can rock it, then go ahead. On Pedder Singapore stocks this bag if any of you is interested. Price is around SGD $2300)

Alexander Wang's other bag designs are also equally interesting. Distressed and washed leathers in predominant colours of black add to a dark and sexy design theme. Simple and not over wrought with rocker bling, these bags have a 'understated' allure. The huge weekender size Daphne Duffel could be a good candidate for the boys who wants some of this rock chic style.

I am keenly awaiting to see if Alexander Wang will hear my pleas and come up with a larger size Coco duffel. I am now smitten by those 'feisty' looking studs:-P
