Raf Simons/Linda Farrow Aviator Sunglasses

Check out these cool shades! After being exposed to the sun in Indonesia for the past 10 days, I realised how important sunglasses are. Not to mention how they 'contribute' in making you look better and cooler in photos:-) And it's a perfect match to my Jil Sander patent grey leather sandals:-P

The brains behind this cool shades is Raf Simons. Yes again, I am featuring his work. Seems he did so many things right for Spring Summer 2008. This hotshot designer of the moment is working his magic again in another collaboration with Linda Farrow. Crafted in a molded style, the shades exudes space age, 'retro' chic. I also love the nice subtle cool gray colour. Made in limited numbers, this will be a very coveted pair of sunglasses. If the design does not appeal enough to you to buy them, at least knowing you will be wearing Raf Simons should be more than suffice to justify the purchase.:-)

Balenciaga Online Store Is Here!

Following the footsteps of other major luxury fashion brands, like Gucci, Marni and Burberry, the ever elusive and exclusive Balenciaga has finally launched their online store at www.balenciaga.com. So now, you dun have to search high and low for all the pictures of balenciaga product ranges, especially the motorcycle bag range. All the colours and splendor of the weekenders and more can now be viewed at leisure and if you are based in the U.S, you can even take those babies home when your balenciaga 'lust' is too strong to resist:-)

At present, the lucky ladies have the privileged and convenience for shopping online. I hope they add men's products to the website soon. Will be great for price comparisons and also see the range they have each season.

I love the whole range of weekenders and the colours (The electric blue one looks stunning!). Even the giant ones looked amazingly chic and could be used by a guy!

More resource for blogging now!

My Shopping Conquest #07

Zara Tailored Checkered Shorts

I am back from my holiday! Phew...so many days away, been to so many places and been on so many rides all over. Saw cities, volcanoes, rural villages, great ancient monuments, traffic jams...and of course, I did at times find it a bit hard for the 'roughing it out' part of the trip. Perhaps I am too much of a city boy, cannot be without my modern comforts and conveniences. But all in all, was a wonderful experience in Indonesia. Learn a lot about the local culture and also most importantly myself. I am thankful for my friend who had to put up with my moments of 'losing my cool'. Oh my, poor him. I would have punch myself in the face if I were him. hahaha.

So back to Singapore and resuming my posts here. Starting with a purchase I got just before I left for the holiday. This wonderful pair of checkered shorts(really short ones) from Zara is a perfect example of the very on-trend Trad Style. A men's clothing style that was influenced by early Brooks Brothers clothes and its amalgam of Anglo-American style; as well as by the natural-shouldered Ivy League clothing style of the 1920s to 1960s. For this reason, American Trad is sometimes considered akin to the preppy look.

Lots of checkers on blazers, shirts, pants is signature to create the trad look. Trad style is featured all 0ver the japanese magazines and it is something to look out for this spring summer season. New designers are giving the look a new spin, up to the point to creatingo full checkered suits with matching shorts. These looks as seen on runways of Thome Browne and Comme Des Garcons.

I feel this pair of shorts sums up the trad style well. And could pass of as a pair of shorts for sailing to the high seas or simply just walking under the hot Singapore sun. Goes extremely well with white shoes and loafers.

Retail price: SGD $89.90. Where to buy: Zara Boutique at Ngee Ann City

Louis Vuitton Damier Canvas Neverfull Bag

It seems LV is going to released the Damier Canvas version of the ever popular Neverfull bags. The monogram canvas version never did resonate with me as I feel it looked like an auntie's bag or worse...a diaper bag(Yeeks!) because of the shape, design and colours. The thin handles was more feminine looking and I do not see the bag passing off as a man's bag. But with this new release of the Neverfull bag in Damier Canvas, it can now work for a guy! There is something about the dark brown coloured handles and the smart Damier checks that projects a certain suave 'manliness'. Perfect for toting around on weekends or even with a nice sleek suit. The red lining is a real head turner too! Not sure when it will be released in Asia. From what I read from this blog, it could be within a few months time! All LV fans, keep your eyes on full alert:-) Price should be similar to the monogram range.
