My MANy Bags Trendspotting #38

Work That Proenza Schouler PS1 Bag...Man!

Who says the Proenza Schouler PS1 Bag is not meant for guys?!?!? Well, if you can work the bag here like what Harper’s Bazaar accessories editor, David Thielebule did...then I'd say...grab one for yourself man!

See how other guys work their 'gender bending' bags here and here.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Coquette Pochette In Navy

This is one hot clutch! Perhaps not for me...but maybe some bold guy/or most likely a strong woman might buy it and make a real fashion statement:-) The dark navy colour makes this gorgeous Louis Vuitton Monogram Coquette Pochette bold and sexy while the gold studs screams glamourous punk:-P

Lots of work has been put into the making of the clutch. From the pleating of the silk fabric, then quilting of the monogram pattern, and then all the hardware, it's no wonder the price tag is as astronomically impressive as the design. Costing a hefty USD $2470 (or SGD $3770!), imagine how it translates to Singapore's inflated LV prices. I guess one will have to 'rob' a bank soon to afford these beauties:-)

Meanwhile, I shall drool on the side. Good designs are meant to be admired regardless of gender. Sometimes, it is as nice a feeling to know someone worthy will appreicate its beauty:-)

Hermès Spring Summer 2010 Mens Accessories

"I don't do fashion, I do clothes," Hermès menswear designer Véronique Nichanian told the French newspaper Libération. This somewhat sums up what the design philosophy of Hermès menswear is . Simply making clothes that men look good in and will covet season after season. It is a good enough strategy to keep Hermès fans loyal, especially when these simple clothes come in the most luxurious and expensive materials the world can offer. And that timeless quality alone is the ultimate allure of Hermès and what keeps us wanting more:-) Hermès Spring Summer 2010 Menswear Collection is no exception.

Darn, I can already feel the softness of those presumably cashmere scarves... what about those TDF espadrilles? Magnifique.

Louis Vuitton Etole Damier In Noir/Bleu/Bordeaux

The pic above of Italian actor, Paolo Stella affirms it...is this going to be my first LV Ion Orchard purchase?:-P LVoe LVoe the Louis Vuitton Etole Damier Scarf.

Now the question begs...Should I get the Bordeaux colour, like what Paolo had around his neck? Or the Noir which is a classic and worn by Justin Timberlake?

Hmmmm....or maybe the bleu which is a timeless classic?

Choices sometimes may not be good.:-(

One thing's for sure, I wanna look cool like Paolo! He's so cute.

My MANy Bags News #100

Louis Vuitton Ion Orchard Opens This Week!

Isn't it befitting that the 100th post of My MANy Bags News is dedicated to the opening of one of the most anticipated luxury mall of Singapore?!?! Ion Orchard will house duplex level flagships of some of the world's most luxurious and coveted brands. And that includes Louis Vuitton who will get a headstart to opening its doors.

I am not sure whether if the store will open to the public on 2nd July as reported here or will it be 3rd July as rumoured on the Purse Forum. Nonetheless, Louis Vuitton Ion Orchard's opening heralds the arrival of Singapore's position as the retail mecca of Southeast Asia!

Here's the article from the source:

This announces the launching of the largest Louis Vuitton boutique both in Singapore and in South-East Asia. Featuring a newly conceived curved façade, circular interiors and an array of Asia Pacific’s firsts, this 2-leveled, 850 square-metre universe testifies the Malletier’s spirit to combine innovative architectural and retail concepts to reflect a tradition of savoir-faire, travel legacy and French luxury. The Louis Vuitton boutique at ION Orchard Turn, opens on July 2, 2009. Check back soon for updates, jump for more pics and info.

Singapore’s prime shopping boulevard is transformed into a luxury architectural showcase as Louis Vuitton opens its second global store at ION on Orchard Road.

The Façade was designed by Front Inc of New York while the interiors by the Louis Vuitton Malletier’s architecture team. The ION Orchard store will showcase Louis Vuitton’s first curved glass façade, inspired by the ‘folds of a scarf’. It will boast a full glass façade comprising two groups of textured glass that mimic a Damier chequerboard pattern effect.

The store will also see a full range of exclusive products specially created for this occasion. Exclusive numbered and limited editions include Ready-to-wear, Shoes, Sunglasses, Watches and leathergoods – most bearing the label “Louis Vuitton Orchard Road Singapore

Junya
Watanabe Spring Summer 2010 Menswear

I am beginning to take a keen interest in the Japanese menswear scene after a few successes in acquiring beautiful pieces from Japanese designers. Becos' it's designed by asians, the cutting somehow fit better and most importantly I adore a different sense of aesthetics from these creative brands. They have a unique and refreshing perspective which is refreshing from the offerings from the west.

One such designer is Junya Watanabe. Being a collaboration enthusiasts, he has worked with varied brands from high street Converse and Levi's, luggage makers Globetrotter to classic tailoring Brooks Brothers. This coming Spring Summer 2010, he worked his magic with the legendary Scottish raincoat maker Mackintosh.

Junya Watanabe's inspirations stems from nostalgia. His interpretation of western gentlemen style always evokes a sense of classic elegance while retaining relevance to the modern man's wardrobe. Immaculate cuts on jackets are his forte as does the use of classic western patterns and designs to create his collection. (Think plaids and pinstripes)

Spring Summer 2010 sees lots of plaid offerings. They come in a myriad range of colours and designs. Jackets, shirts and shorts are all applied with this pattern.

Golfing sportsmen, elegant gentlemen all looked immaculately smart in Junya Watanabe's charming nostalgic creations. It brought a sense of the good old days where men dress with the utmost allure and noblesse.

My favourite piece of this collection needs no hesitation, it will be that orange plaid blazer which is definitely coming home with me when Spring Summer 2010 season arrives.:-P

Behind The Scenes - Dolce & Gabbana Underwear Campaign 2009

Dolce & Gabbana loves to worship the male physique. Their clothes are cut to flatter a man...and that supreme understanding of where and how to accentuate a man's 'assets' extends to its underwear line too. If those underwear are going to make me half as hot as those Dolce & Gabbana models, I am buying me a dozen tommorow.

For the new Dolce & Gabbana Underwear Campaign shot by Mariano Vivanco, who better to demonstrate the beauty of the male body than the good-looking and in shape Italian swimmers! Mirko Di Tora, Emiliano Brembilla, Alessandro Terrin, Paolo Bossini, Nicola Cassio are among the handsome cast. Drool over these exclusive behind the scenes pics sent by Swide magazine...(Dolce & Gabbana's online Blogazine)

Now comes my question...who is this behind the scenes' photographer...he seems to know how to place his camera angle where we want it to be! Hehe. Perhaps I can volunteer next time for such an assignment?!>!?

Especially interesting are the pics capturing one of the crew helping one of the swimmers shave at the most 'interesting' of places. Allan, this is for you:-)

Yes, that is what goes on behind photoshoots. Never as easy as it seems:-) Lots of preparatory work. But nonetheless fun. I once had a photoshoot where a Canadian female model bares her top entirely in order to achieve a better visual effect. She does it with gusto so as to get a better picture showing off all the gold foil we plaster onto her body. Poor gal..but she was so professional that all of us were very impressed!:-)

N'uff said....Enjoy the muscles and the hunks!
